"Oh, Hi Jehoaddan..."

Since finding out that baby #2 is a girl, we've been trying to decide what her name shall be. We knew Toby's name within a couple days of the discovery of his male parts. We're having a little more trouble making a decision on the girl name. Robyn and I both had a whole lot more potential male names on the list than female.

As if the "15,000 names" book isn't sufficient, Robyn tracked down a "100,000 names" book from the library. Basically, with it, you get not only the 15,000 names from the first book, but also 85,000 names that no American would ever name their child. It's a good time.

Monday night, I stayed up late working on schoolwork. Before going to bed, Robyn was looking through the name book. I finally headed upstairs around 1:30 and hopped in bed with her. She stirred, sat up, and said (in a surprisingly clear voice) "Oh, hi Jehoaddan, are you just getting home?" I responded with "I'm Scott, your husband, and I've been home, downstairs working on college stuff."

Just in case you're wondering, Jehoaddan is a male Hebrew name which means "the LORD's time". And it will likely not wind up on our daughter's birth certificate.

you could nickname him "Ho", that'd be kinda cool

it would be kinda cool... but she's a GIRL... and I ain't callin' my daughter "Ho". I think Dre & Snoop covered that enough, and I'd prefer not to set such a precedent.

i've already discussed this with J, but if we ever have a second kid (i'm still not quite on board yet) and that kid happens to be of the male gender, we're going to give him a name that multiplies my nerdity.

his name shall be Kalvin Eldrick. why? so i can call him Kal El. Superman's Kryptonian name.

its both awesome and nerdtastic.
