"Hide"

Tobe's current favorite pastime is playing hide-and-seek. He's not very good at it. He like to announce that he's hiding, and he makes sure we know where he is. For example, he'll say "Mama! MAMA... Dada! DADA... (runs toward open closet door) hide..." Of course, then it is our job to seek him.

As the days go by, he might be getting worse at this game. Lately, he's sitting in a chair and requesting that we cover him with a blanket. Then, once covered, he says "hide..." Makes it kinda hard to seek him, especially when we can see him plainly. To make it even funnier, when we patronize him and act like we don't know where he is, he can't keep his mouth shut. We cover him up with the blanket, then we ask each other questions such as "is Toby hiding in the coat closet?" and we'll hear a faint "no" from under the blanket. It's just too dang funny.

Aah, the JOY of raising children. There's nothing that comes remotely close. Thanks for sharing this tid-bit.
