Softball starts next Thursday. I think I'm pumped. I'm definitely looking forward to playing ball, and I'm most assuredly looking forward to hanging with the fellas, but I'm not at all looking forward to the Price-Hill-to-rural-Harrison commute. At least the carpool will be in effect, as I have teammates living nearby.
We were pretty rough last year. Some of us, myself included, had never played softball outside of the occasional church picnic or sub opportunity. And we played like we had that much experience. We finally started to play better as the fall season was ending, and we hope last year's late-season surge will carry over into 2008.
And if it doesn't, at least we'll have a big leaguer on our team.
We've got Bill Wegman. Oh yeah. Sure, you say, a guy who can throw a mid-90s-mph fastball isn't really all that useful in softball. And maybe you're right. All I know is the guy played 10 big league seasons, and he's my teammate. So... I hope he can help us win a few games. At the very least, it will be fun to hear the stories of being teammates with Yount, Molitor, and Fingers, as well as the stories of pitching to Griffey (Jr and Sr), Ripken (Cal Jr and Billy), and Bill Buckner.
Levon, Jeremy, Bill, and I got together tonight. It was our Spring Training. We threw it around. We took some BP. We had a good ol' time. I'm pumped. Jeff Warnock, you will regret not playing on this team. Mark my words. You will regret not playing on this team! We might still suck, but we're gonna have a good time!

Have fun and Play Ball..!!
Gheez...I forgot to mention,.With
Levon on the squad, you better bring the wire cutters to the park. That guy WILL run through the fence. I saw him in action at GABP.!! He could play for me anytime. Scott, did you load up with one of those $300 aluminum bats.! OUCH.! Wouldn't the wife love that? I say go back to ash.
