It Was, Indeed, That Good

I've long wanted to experience a dinner at a Jeff Ruby restaurant. On several occasions, we've decided to splurge and just go for it, but something always comes up. The last time, I simply changed my mind, deciding it couldn't possibly be worth the money.

Well, my wife convinced me that we should go. Let me rephrase this... My vegetarian wife convinced me that we should go to a steakhouse that had nothing but meat entrees on the menu. She made a Saturday evening reservation at
The Precinct, and off we went.

Good night was it freaking fantastic! Atmosphere? Fantastic. Service? Fantastic. Salad? Fantastic. Potato? Fantastic. Entree? New York, 2" thick (!), King Crab, Asparagus, in some tasty sauces... Simply put, WOW. (Robyn's vegetarian pasta with a portobella? She said it was very good as well.)

Conclusion? I'd much rather pay the extra money (total bill before tip = $61, thanks in part to a much more inexpensive vegetarian entree) for guaranteed great food and service than "roll the dice" at Outback or Longhorn on a steak that may or may not be very good served by workers who may or may not give a rat's about my dinner.

It was that good.

it sounds like you did very well for dining at a Jeff Ruby restaurant. To get out of there with only a $61 check is quite amazing, so kudos to you!

It IS amazing! We went there a couple years ago, and have been back twice since with family for special occasions! We have a $100 gift certificate that we are waiting to use for some special occasion, and I can't wait to go back!

So glad you enjoyed it, and hope you had a great birthday!
