Then Tobe came down with croup in mid-December and I started to understand. The poor kid couldn't breath, and there was no miracle Tylenol that was going to help him get through the night. Our doctor urged us to take him to the ER if at any point we thought he was struggling too much. That sucked.
And now, just a couple weeks removed from croup, he has an upper respiratory infection, his first ear infection, and a 104-degree fever. This kid is usually such a bundle of energy. He has his Grandpa Bob's motor, that's for sure. (He definitely does NOT have his daddy's motor, as I enjoy frequenting the couch.) But right now, this fever is just draining him. Little dude's forehead feels like fire. And all he wants to do is sleep.
Robyn snapped this after the boy and I were both soundly asleep earlier tonight.

WOW - all I can say is "frick and frack"! The 2 dudes look an awful lot a like!
just so you know, Aly has been healthy and mostly happy for almost 4 weeks now. but she's due for another illness soon. i can feel it coming.
overall, this fall/winter has been much better than last fall/winter when Aly was sick and in the doctors office at least once a month between Sept. 05 and March 06.
that was terrible.
it sucks having a sick kid. its easily the worst experience of my life and i can't even imagine how terrible it is for her.
the helplessness i've felt during those times has been unbearable.
i pray the Tobe gets better soon.
