A while back, I was invited to a private sports messageboard. There are only about 50 members who post on any sort of regular basis, and there are only about 100 folks who have access to the board. To this day, I have no idea why I was invited... apparently, I wrote something at somepoint that the moderator thought was interesting/insightful/funny, and then I received an invite to this very cool forum with a bunch of guys who are "in the know". I hope they don't kick me out when they realize I'm just an idiot, cause it's pretty cool to hear about news before it happens!

Two of the guys on the site have extensive MLB front office experience. They are sworn to secrecy about so much of their work, and they want to reveal their secrets, yet they would get in trouble if they did, so they have these pseudonyms that they post under. I knew about Carlos Lee's 6 year deal a week before the rumors hit ESPN.com's Insider, I knew about Soriano's megadeal long before he signed it. While it's hard to know for sure who these guys are, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they are disgruntled Reds FO guys.

I say all this to say that talks are hot and heavy to send Adam Dunn to Colorado for Jason Hirsh
and another Majewski (OF prospect Val, of the Orioles) in a 3-way deal. Sounds like the kind of deal Krivsky would do. So, if it happens, let it be known that I have tons of insider information and am a very cool person. And if it doesn't happen, well, it was just another stupid internet rumor.

Good luck next year, Bengals. How disappointing it is to watch a team with so much talent that can't put it together. I will continue to believe that if they could sneak into the playoffs, they could do some damage. Think Marvin and the boys would like to have the Tampa Bay and Atlanta games back? Well, at least they can finish off the year on a good note, by sweeping the Steelers, this Sunday. I'll watch.
