The Tobinator and I both suited up for this one. I wore the trusty Kitna jersey, never dreaming he'd play. I loved his first scramble for a first down, how he almost was inviting contact instead of sliding like the QB usually does on such a play. It's like he was telling the team "come on, this is gonna be a battle, I'm ready, follow me." Only problem with that--he's not Carson. After Kitna started to falter, specifically with the INTs, I was afraid to pick Toby up. #9 had already been injured, #3 wasn't getting it done... I was afraid I'd drop Toby and let the metaphors continue. That would've been bad.
Here's a pic of my little Palmer after the knee injury ("We're #1!")... doesn't he look like a little linebacker?
It was a very fun year to watch the Bengals. I wish they would've won today. I hate watching them lose. Dad and I watched the game over here. I must've looked pretty bad after the game. Dad asked me if I'd be OK. Yeah, I'll be OK. It's fun to have the hometown NFL team to root for and actually think they have a chance to win every week. For once, we have more to look forward to than the draft. Let's hope Palmer heals well and heals in time to be sharp next year. And I'll hold on to hope that they'll keep Kitna around. And by the way, HR announced that Friday was to be a Bengal spirit day. We didn't have to wear our normal business casual as long as we wore Bengal stuff. I wore the Kitna jersey. Someone did exactly what I predicted would happen ever since I got the jersey... came to my office with a big smile and said "he's a great Christian!" I don't wear Christian T-shirts. No offense to those who do. I don't like Christian gear. I don't like Kitna because he's a Christian... I mean, that's cool... but I like him because he had a few good years, and at the peak of his career, he willingly stepped into a backup/mentor role and was key to Carson's development. Selfless in an ego-driven environment. I like the guy. Not simply because he's a brother in Christ. Just had to get that out.

Yes, it was a sad day yesterday as grown men laid on the field crying- its hard to believe its over. That was one depressing game!
