Thoughts on Royalty (part 4)

(No waiting until tomorrow. I'm gonna finish it. Continued from parts 1, 2, and 3)

What would it be like to be a royal child? To have all the resources of a kingdom at your disposal? To have a castle for a home? To have a moat (preferably with alligators) around your playground?

The cynical me would say it would be a disaster. The kids would never know what reality is... they'd be spoiled rotten... they'd grow up to be arrogant just like their parents... and then, on the other hand, the fame would go to their heads, and the media would wear them down... and their every more would be under the microscope of an entire nation... and...

Wait. Back it up a little. What if it the dreamworld was the reality? What if all the frills and extravagances wouldn't spoil the kids? What if the resources of the kingdom were used well and the right people/things were invested in? What if the beautiful opulence was just a reflection of the most beautiful, perfect, benevolent, merciful King?

What if the King deserved the throne? What if the children were the adopted heirs of the perfect King?

The commanding, awe-inspiring stone structures I entered...
The heavenly stained glass that the sun shone through...
The beautiful paintings that hung in the intricately-carved wood frames...
The finest fabrics and tapestries that adorned the most astonishing living quarters ever made...

They were completed for fallen humans who have the audacity to call themselves royalty.

They are the most beautiful buildings, the most impressive art, the finest furnishings that exist in this world. They are as valuable and irreplaceable as anything on earth.

O Christ...

Your glory shines so much brighter that the sun through those windows.

Your might would crush those enormous stone palaces as if they were sand castles.
Your holiness is infinitely more beautiful than those cathedrals could ever dream to be.
Your majesty makes the finest efforts of the most skillful men appear to be filthy rags.

Hosanna! Thank you for calling me one of Your own. Though I am filthy and wretched, I am a royal, because I am a child of the King.
