We finished 0-11 in our summer league. It was embarassing. Then we lost the first doubleheader in the fall league. A 13-game losing streak, yet we kept showing up and (most of the time) giving it our best.
2 weeks ago, we broke through and got a win. Last week, we swept a doubleheader, including a win against the first place team. Tonight, we split a doubleheader, and we finished the fall league with a respectable 4-4 record.
Man, there were some frustrating times, but it's so much fun to play ball with the fellas. We're playing again next summer. We have to. We're just starting to get the hang of this competition thing. I finally started hitting the ball hard tonight. Not much to show for it, but it felt good.
Much like the Reds and Bengals and Cubs and Yankees, our mantra is "wait 'til next year..."
