This will be our 5th Christmas as a married couple. For the 5th consecutive year, we went to Bohman's Farm in St. Maurice, IN with some semblance of our friend Ed Hampton's family. Christmas 2003 and 2004 included Ed, daughter Kayla, Robyn, and me. Toby joined us (still inside Robyn) in 2005. Bethany joined us in 2006 as Ed's friend, and this year as his fiance. It's quite the tradition, if I may say so myself.
Toby likes to be a backpack. It's quite common for Tobe to say "Bah-Pah" and want to ride people/things. So, at the tree farm, he got to be Mommy's backpack. Of course, we were an hour from home, in the middle of a field, on a windy 30-degree day when Robyn said "uh oh... I feel very... warm... and... wet." The boy really likes his unit, and he managed to get it out of his diaper and urinated all over his mama's back.
We did successfully haul home a tree for us and a tree for my sister on top of the Pimp Boat, so at least we still accomplished our mission. (You haven't lived until you've hauled multiple Christmas trees on top of a Buick while soaked in someone else's urine.)A week prior, Thanksgiving was had. Tobe and I walked over to Kroger to buy unhealthy breakfast pastries. Then, as a family, we walked up to Glenway to take in the annual Price Hill Thanksgiving Day parade. It was fun to watch Tobe's reaction to the various bands/floats/characters that parades offer.
On to Robyn's parents' place for the feast. A reasonable family portrait was taken. We so rarely all get dressed up, so these photo ops need to be taken advantage of. I ate entirely too much Skyline dip before eating entirely too much dinner. Tobe had to carry me to the car at the end of the night. The last sentence was just an exaggeration to make sure you're paying attention, regardless of how believable it may be.
Toby loves the zoo. He may not be 2 yet, but he's already wrestling alligators. Actually... I think he was being the alligator's "bah-pah". And on an unrelated note, is it normal for a kid who isn't yet 2 to be able to identify all of the letters of the alphabet?
Also during the last couple weeks, Tobe received his first haircut and his first Walt's pulled pork sandwich. The Walt's picture is below. Unfortunately, I cannot post any haircut images, as he managed to get his pen1s into each picture. What can I say, the kid is amazing like that.
And now you are mostly up-to-date on life in the Duebber household. Congrats on making it through another mind-numbing post.

Mmmmm... skyline dip...
and the whole obsession with the bits and pieces - isn't this a learned behavior?
i actually like your family and picture posts like this. keep them coming!
poor kid, get him a new hat. something without a certain orange and black feline.
and i must be honest, i'm kind of disappointed in the fact that he actually has hair now.
and are you totally positive he's not related to Simon? you may want to check up on this as this may be the reason behind his pen15 obsession. or, it may just be that he's a dude and we're all obsessed with our own.
maybe i've said too much.
nah, brian, you haven't said too much. and... that's all i'm gonna say.
btw, the bengals hat is MINE. kids hats don't fit him.
once a man finds his johnson i don't think he ever leaves it alone.........enough about the male anatomy! Are you all coming to Christmas at my mom's?
i'm there. what should i bring?
ahh, brian. you crack me up!
I think that kids who know all their letters before they are 2 are geniuses! (Because Kaelyn can too! Let's identify them as prodigees right now!!)
Fun pics. Thanks. I hope Robyn survived the tree-choosing with urination!
Make that typo "prodigies" in my previous post! Have to redeem myself and my editing skills.
