Extreme Makeover - Garage Edition

4 years ago, we moved into this old home that needed work. Since we live in the house and not the garage, the garage was the last item on the list to fix up. Well, the house has been in pretty good shape for the best part of 2 years now, and the garage... well... not so much.
(When my dad saw this picture, his first words in response were "what part of Appalachia do you live in?")

I haven't touched the sides or the back yet, but at least it looks better from the street these days. It's amazing what a little scraping and painting can do for a structure's appearance.
Working on the house over the last couple weeks has been wonderful. I've been physically exhausted from the labor, and my temper has been short at times, but it's satisfying work. It's fun to have a big project with my wife. It's good for the marriage to have a big job to share and work on together. In this case, the big job is a 107 year old home.
