I hate when people do this

Since everyone loves when people talk about their fantasy sports teams, I'll indulge y'all, as I'm sure you've been anxiously awaiting word.

In my debut fantasy season, I finished 2nd out of 10 in both baseball leagues. I'm pretty pumped about my strong showing, considering I was utterly clueless going into my first draft. I have some real baseball knowledge, but that doesn't equate to fantasy success. So happy days for me. I'm actually protesting the 2nd place showing in one league because I think Yahoo made a big mistake in giving the league "winner" (TYE) an extra win after he was over his innings limit, thus giving him the margin of victory in the league. Pretty exciting fantasy pennant race, it went down to Sunday's games.

I'm getting used to having my butt handed to me in football, though. 1-3 on the year thus far, and it isn't looking good. Then again, I don't really care about football other than the Bengals (which would explain why I have Chad, Rudi, Graham, and the Bengal Defense on my roster).

(Sidenote: When stories like the following are told, I wonder how many people playing fantasy sports have any clue at all... One of my high school guys told me the other day "Man, I'm PUMPED about my fantasy football team. I got Ladanian in the 4th round." I had two thoughts on this: (1) Why did kid allow 3 rounds to go by before taking him? and (2) What idiots are in kid's league?)

As all of my loyal readers (which is loosely translated as "Mom") make the decision to no longer read my blog due to this post (since, as I've already stated, no one cares about others' fantasy teams), I bid you a fond farewell. Maybe I'll try to come up with something of substance for later.

So My wife encouraged me to talk to Yahoo about this. She has made it very clear that she doesn't want to "be married to a LOSER." So thanks, Tye, for ruining my marriage.

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Fantasy Sports.

Teams receive full fantasy credit for all stats accumulated on the day the innings pitched limit is reached. So, if a team has 1,249 innings and pitches 20 innings the following day, they will receive fantasy credit for all 1,269 innings accumulated.

Beginning the following day, no additional fantasy pitching stats may be earned by that team. The default setting for public leagues is 1,250 innings.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Regards,

Bruce

HAHAHAH!!! You're just mad b/c that means I win fair and square! Protest all you want, but as far as their rules and guidelines are concerned I am a legitiment winner. Plus thinking about it, I think that makes sense, b/c who's to say how many exact innings pitchers are going to pitch?...You can't predict that. SIDE NOTE: If you have the Bengals D on your roster, they certainly aren't losing it for you! Who's your QB?

You won fair and square in accordance with the rules. I maintain that the rules are a sham. If the innings limit is stated as 1250, then it should be so. No biggie, I had a great time with the league. I'm glad it was actually a race down to the wire instead of a blowout.

And in football, the D doesn't really score that many points, especially in our league with the expanded offensive rosters. QBs = Peyton, Collins, Brady. I've gotten my butt kicked in the last 3 weeks (even though Peyton became the Peyton of old last week).
